Motion sensor technology that is used to fight chronic pain

Salt Lake Regional Medical Center is one of the first medical institution in the country are using motion sensor technology developed for the video game to help patients manage pain.

Doctors thread the cables to the outside of the hematoma along the spine; the cable contains electrodes are issued cost to transform painful tingling sensations of stimulus. Motion sensors–as used in the Wii game–to the buttocks and allows a device to adapt to the position.

“We make a small incision in the ass and make a small pocket, making it look like a pacemaker when we finished, but down in the ass,” says Dr. Steven Pulley from the Salt Lake Regional Medical Center.

Laury Bullock, Salt Lake City retired firefighters, have been dealing with severe pain over the years after responding to the burning of meth lab years ago. Oxen have been planted with new technologies and appreciate no longer experiencing constant pain.

“It would be amazing to play with my grandchildren and doing things that I used to just take a given,” said Bullock.
